$1 MILLION GRANT RECEIVED!!!
I’m pleased to announce that Congressman Josh Gottheimer has secured a $1 million federal grant for Palisades Park. This funding will replace the outdated Grand Avenue stormwater lineβwhere much of our rainwater collectsβwith a modern system that doubles capacity and greatly reduces flooding in our neighborhoods.
Since 2024, we’ve been committed to strengthening local government and improving services for our residents. Through these efforts, we’ve secured about $3 million in state and federal grants, helping us reduce the burden on taxpayers while addressing long‑standing infrastructure needs.
This new project marks the first phase of a multi‑step plan to upgrade aging stormwater lines and install proper drainage on streets that, surprisingly, were never built with it. We have already obtained additional grants for improvements on 1st, 2nd, and 4th Streets, with construction set to begin before summer.
We are also advancing new policies to prevent future flooding. At the April Mayor and Council meeting, I will introduce an ordinance requiring all new developments to pass a PERC test, ensuring the soil can properly absorb rainfall and avoid drainage issues.
Reform takes time, but meaningful progress is underway. I am grateful to Congressman Gottheimer for his continued support and dedication to the needs of our community, and I am truly grateful that the community believes in our progress of reform.

🗂 View Full NewsletterThe Borough of Palisades Park is launching a 3-month trial program to provide free parking at meter spaces starting at 6:00 PM instead of 10:00 PM.
This temporary change is intended to support residents, visitors, and local businesses during a challenging economic period and to evaluate whether earlier free parking helps encourage activity along Broad Avenue and nearby commercial areas.
The trial phase will remain in effect through June 30. Borough officials will review community and business response before deciding whether to extend or end the program.
