Former Business Administrator David Lorenzo
The Borough of Palisades Park has won a significant legal victory in its ongoing efforts to recover taxpayer funds that were improperly paid to former Business Administrator David Lorenzo. On June 24, 2026, Judge Nasta ordered the repayment of more than $240,000 from Lorenzo to the Borough.
According to the Borough's lawsuit, Mr. Lorenzo used his position to authorize supplemental compensation payments to himself β including $81,226.65 for unused sick leave and $195,108.20 for unused vacation time β totaling $276,334.85 between 2015 and 2024, which the Borough alleges he was not legally entitled to receive.
“From the very beginning, our priority has been protecting the interests of Palisades Park taxpayers,” said Mayor Chong “Paul” Kim. “We have a fiduciary responsibility to safeguard public funds and ensure accountability in municipal government. This ruling is an important step forward, and we will continue to pursue every appropriate legal avenue to recover taxpayer dollars.”
The Borough will continue pursuing all available legal remedies to recover public funds and protect the interests of local taxpayers.

The Borough of Palisades Park has completed repaving on 1st Street following the installation of new stormwater drains and drainage lines designed to reduce flooding in areas that previously lacked proper infrastructure. This project is part of the administration's multi-year commitment to upgrading aging stormwater systems across our community.
New drainage infrastructure has also been installed along Highland Ave, 2nd Street, and 4th Street, addressing long-standing flooding concerns that have affected these neighborhoods for years.

The Borough of Palisades Park launched a trial program providing free parking at meter spaces starting at 6:00 PM instead of 10:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.
This change was introduced to support residents, visitors, and local businesses during a challenging economic period and to encourage activity along Broad Avenue and nearby commercial areas.
Following a successful trial period, the Borough Council has approved extending this program through September 30. We encourage residents to continue taking advantage of evening free parking and to support our local merchants.

π§ NEW DRAINS. NEW ROADS. NO MORE FLOODING.
Your streets are getting the upgrades they deserve β and it's long overdue. πͺ
Palisades Park has completed new stormwater drain and line installations on 1st Street, 2nd Street, 4th Street, and Highland Ave β followed by fresh repaving to give residents safer, cleaner roads. π£οΈ
Here's why this matters:
π§οΈ These streets had NO proper drainage for years
π Residents dealt with flooding every time it rained
π§ New underground stormwater lines now redirect rainwater properly
π Fresh repaving follows every installation for smooth, safe roads
This is what real infrastructure reform looks like β not just patching problems, but fixing them at the root. π±
And we're not stopping here. More streets are being evaluated for stormwater upgrades, and new ordinances are being developed to require proper drainage in ALL future developments. π
Step by step. Block by block. We're building a better Palisades Park. π
