Officers Honored for Bravery at Bergen County 200 Club Valor Awards

At the annual Bergen County 200 Club Valor Awards, Lt. George Beck, PO Michael Bruno, PO Michael McDermott and PO James Chang were honored with the Distinguished Service Award for demonstrating outstanding bravery under conditions of personal risk to their own life and safety and beyond their duties. Congratulations!

Palisades Park Improvement Update

The new paving along Grand Avenue, from Oakdene Avenue to West Columbia Avenue, was completed on September 30, 2024. The project included the repaving of both northbound and southbound lanes. Mayor Kim expressed confidence that this enhancement will significantly improve the quality of life for our residents.

Pal Park Celebrates 125th Anniversary - September 14, 2024

Palisades Park wrapped up its 125th-anniversary celebration with resounding success. The event was a meaningful opportunity for residents and local businesses to come together, celebrating the borough’s prosperity and strengthening community bonds.

Memorial Day - September 11, 2024

On September 11, 2024, the Borough of Palisades Park held a solemn ceremony in remembrance of the tragic events of 9/11. Local officials, first responders, and community members gathered to honor the lives lost and the heroic efforts of those who risked their lives during the attack.

This annual event serves as a poignant reminder of the strength and solidarity of the Palisades Park community, ensuring that the memory of 9/11 remains alive for future generations.

Mayor's Scholarship Awards - May 28, 2024

Mayor Paul Kim awarded total of $10,000 in scholarships to ten 12th-grade senior students from Palisades Park High School. The scholarship fund was established by proceeds from his wedding ceremony honorarium. Mayor Kim expressed his hope that these scholarships would encourage these students to pursue their higher education. He hoped they will grow up to be leaders who care for the future of Palisades Park. Mayor Kim wished them all a bright future on behalf of the Councils as well.

Memorial Day Ceremony - May 27, 2024

Memorial Day Service was held in front of the Memorial Park on May 27, 2024 at 10AM. Present were Mayor Chong Paul Kim & Council President Suk John Min, Councilwomen Christine Won You Bong & Sang H. Lee, along with Palisades Park Police & Fire Department. The names of those who have served & have now passed away were read aloud.  Wreaths & flowers were laid in their honor. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather the Memorial Day Parade was cancelled.

Clean up Broad Ave. - May 11, 2024

Over 50 volunteers came down today to show support for pride, culture and progress of Palisades Park. The Palisades Park HS students, Chamber of Commerce, Voters Registration Group, BOE President Chung , VP Shin, and Member Bo young, Councilwomen Won-Yoon, Jang and Lee picked up over 200 pounds of garbage and cigarette butts on Broad Ave. and found hidden liquor stashes to be removed from the public. The students recommended that we need more garbage disposals on Broad Ave. and placing cigarette butt disposals so the public won’t litter.
